This fantastic safari offers a lot to everybody; fly-fishing, spinning and trolling as well as an opportunity for divers (snorkling & scuba-diving) to experience the great Lake Tanganyika and its’ colourful underwater world. The second part of our tour takes us to mighty Zambezi River and Victoria Falls. On Lake Tanganyika we challenge the Nile Perch (up to 50kg), Lake Salmon (up to 25kg) and the most exciting sporting challenge of Tigerfish. In the depths of the Lake lurks the giant Goliath Tiger (up to 30kg) and rare Golden Perch. Our professional guides will guarantee us the best possible catch while the wild Sumbu National Park provides us a constant background of African wildlife.
Arrive in Lusaka to carry on directly with our 2½hr charter-flight to Lake Tanganyika and Ndole Bay Lodge. We get the first taste of this world’s second deepest lake with a boat-transfer to our lodge. As the sun sets over the lake we truly understand how deep we are in the heart of Africa. (Dinner)
After a briefing by our guide, we head out to the lake for our first fishing. Some of the local species worth of mention are Nkupi, Bream, Lake Trout and Catfish, which grows up to tens of kilograms. On the water we realise the sheer size of this lake. We return to lodge for lunch and after the hottest mid-day hours we return to do some more fishing. By the camp-fire we already relive the first experiences of our safari. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
In true safari-style we head out early for a full-day fishing-expedition. Crocodiles and hippos inhabiting the lake bring on their own excitement as we land for a picnic-lunch and siesta. Carry on fishing before returning to lodge for dinner. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
We start for 4hr-hike through the African bushland and forests to reach the freely-running Lufuba River. Regularly caught Tigerfish up to 3kg and Yellowfish up to 5kg are the main reason for our trek. We spend the night camping in tents by the river and enjoy our meals under African sky like the explorers of the past. Those wishing to take it easier can relax at the lodge and make a game-drive in the adjoining Sumbu National Park. Elephants, lions and lot of other species live in the park. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
After early river-fishing we return to Ndole Bay and spend our final afternoon fishing on the lake. After dinner we can still enjoy the special atmosphere of this unique place and admire the bright stars of African night-sky. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
After breakfast transfer to the airstrip and flight to Lusaka where change for a flight to Livingstone and Victoria Falls. We stay at Waterfront Lodge right on the Zambezi River. (Breakfast, Dinner)
